Second-floor lobby
The second-floor lobby offers an airy ambience with waiting areas for patients, families and guests. One waiting area has a large aquarium and a view into the chapel and beautiful stained glass designed by artist Laura Mentor. The juxtaposition of a very high window and a ground-level window in the chapel inspired the design themes of the heavens and the earth. The upper window, “Of the Heavens,” is permeated with the deep, jewel-like colors and sparkling stars of the mysterious and dynamic universe. The second floor also offers a great view of the Johnny Gorgon mobile. The mobile was created with a skeleton of brass and bronze, on which individually wrapped kiln-worked glass leaves hang by copper wire. Each branch is wrapped entirely in copper and carefully balanced.

The operating rooms, endoscopy area, preop and postop areas, and the post-anesthesia care unit are accessible from the second floor.
