The emergency department is equipped to provide comprehensive medical services 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to patients suffering traumatic injuries, such as those involved in serious traffic accidents, falls, explosions or contact with hazardous materials. The main purpose of the trauma room is to stabilize seriously injured patients as rapidly as possible so that they can be taken to the operating room or the intensive care unit.
